Connecting 100+ Branches: A Playbook for Multi-Site Networks
Connecting a handful of offices is straightforward. Connecting a hundred stores, branches or warehouses across dozens of cities is a different kind of project — one where logistics, vendor coordination and standardisation matter as much as technology.
1. Standardise site profiles
Group locations into a few profiles — for example head office, large branch, small branch, kiosk — each with a defined bandwidth, link types, hardware and security design. Standard profiles make ordering, staging and support far simpler.
2. Run feasibility early
Check which providers can serve each address before committing to dates. Feasibility is where most rollout delays begin.
3. Two links, two technologies
For every site that matters, pair a wired primary with a different-technology backup such as 4G/5G. Use SD-WAN to make both links active and fail over automatically.
4. Stage and ship ready-to-run
Pre-configure routers centrally — or use zero-touch provisioning — so the field engineer only needs to plug in and test.
5. Accept sites properly
Define a checklist: speed test, failover test, monitoring visible in the NOC, labelling and photographs. A site is not “done” until it passes.
6. One support desk
Branch staff should have one number to call, not a list of ISPs. The network team should manage the carriers.
Ubixe Infotech runs multi-site rollouts and manages them afterwards under one SLA. See Multi Sites Connect or share your site list.
