MPLS and VPLS build a private network over a carrier backbone. Your branches, factories and data centres behave as if they were on one network, separated from the internet and from other customers, with guaranteed performance for the traffic that matters.

MPLS L3VPN is a routed service: every site gets a routed connection and the provider’s network forwards traffic between them. VPLS is a Layer 2 service: all sites appear to be on the same Ethernet switch, which suits data-centre extensions, legacy applications and networks that run their own routing.
